Where we start

Two hours to find out what you actually need.

Not a sales demonstration. A working session with a consultant, after which you know what is feasible, how long it takes, and whether it is work for us.

2 h

with a consultant, free and without commitment

In Saint-Priest, at your offices, or over video

In two hours

What happens, in order

  1. 20 min

    Your systems

What you run, where the data lives, who administers it.

  2. 40 min

    Your rules

How your key figures are calculated, and where the definitions diverge.

  3. 30 min

    What we would do

The architecture we would put in place, and why that one.

  4. 30 min

    How it would run

Phases, the load on your teams, the friction points we anticipate.

The principle

Why we do it for free

A quote written without having seen your data is worth nothing. We could write any figure at all, you would have no way to check it, and we would both discover the reality on day one of the project, too late for everyone.

So these two hours serve us as much as they serve you. They keep us from selling a project we would struggle to deliver, and they keep you from buying a platform three sizes too large.

The session

What happens during those two hours

  1. You describe the problem, not the solution

We start with what is painful today: what takes time, what cannot be trusted, what nobody manages to obtain. Not with the technology you have in mind.

  2. We inventory the sources

Which applications, which databases, which files. How many instances, how many companies, how much history. This is the step that decides everything else, and the one most quotes skip over.

  3. We identify the sensitive business rules

How you define revenue, margin, work in progress. This is where the gaps between departments hide, and therefore where most of the work to come sits.

  4. We tell you what we would do

The architecture we have in mind, an order of magnitude of effort, and above all: where to start. Including when the answer is that your need fits in three days of Power BI rather than a platform.

The outcome

What you leave with

Scoping workshop deliverables
Content
A source inventoryThe list of what will have to be connected, with the difficulty identified for each one.
A target architectureWhat we would put in place, and why. Including when the answer is nothing beyond what you already have.
An order of magnitudeAn honest effort range, rather than a round number meant to reassure.
A starting pointWhere to begin so that something visible lands quickly, rather than a six-month project with no milestone.

Frequently asked

What people ask before booking

Is the scoping workshop really free?

Yes, with nothing expected in return and no commitment. We spend two hours on it because it is the only way to know whether we can be useful to you. A quote written without having seen your data is worth nothing, to you or to us.

What should we prepare?

Nothing is required. If you have them to hand: the list of your source systems, one example of a report or spreadsheet you produce today, and a rough idea of how many people are concerned. If you have none of that, come anyway: building that inventory is part of the work.

Who should attend on your side?

Ideally one person who knows the business and one who knows the systems. They are rarely the same person, and both points of view are needed. A decision maker is welcome but not required at this stage.

On site or remote?

Both work. We are in Saint-Priest, on the outskirts of Lyon, France, and we travel gladly across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Remotely, the workshop runs over video and works just as well for a first scoping.

What if our need falls outside your skills?

We will tell you during the workshop, rather than three weeks later in a quote. A need sometimes turns out to be a setting in the tool you already own, or work for a different trade than ours. Saying so straight away saves everyone time.

The session

Two hours, minute by minute

Twenty minutes on your systems, forty on how your figures are calculated, thirty on the architecture we would put in place, thirty on the sequence and the load on your teams. Nothing to prepare on your side.
